Being new to Tamil literature, I would like to say Kalyan Raman did a commendable job with all those translations. I think it is a good story about a goat only the problem is it isn't in my opinion written for the western world. It is depressing and morose, but is a powerful story which makes one think and retrospect and be filled with turmoil, if one lets oneself be dragged into the injustices existing in the society.
